Just Another “Moon Poem”

December 29, 2010

[This was a big hit on my Facebook page back in July, all the women swooned.]

How many times have I written this poem
looking at the Full Moon, dreaming of “you”
desire bouncing off that bleak surface
like the rays of the insistent yellow Sun
the geography & physics always different, always wrong
the message the same to a different “you”
like cut-&-paste in a planetary email
splaying Moon dust, ricocheting around stars?
But this time, this poem, written
as the Moon’s white light penetrates my bedroom
this time this poem is written for you.
